Message From the Head of Laity Kansanga Parish
As we conclude the 23rd year of our existence, we ought to thank Almighty God for the gift of our Parish that was placed under the patronage of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. We are particularly grateful for the graces and blessings that have enabled our community to get through the year as pilgrims of hope that the Archdiocesan theme encouraged to “..Journey together in communion, participation and mission.” I make this small submission in an attempt to express the sentiments of the Kansanga Parish Community.
We look back in appreciation of the historical first visit to our Parish of his Grace Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere of Kampala Archdiocese on 20th July this year. I propose to use that visit as the starting point to our journey towards our Silver Jubilee.
The Kansanga Parish community deeply appreciates the devoted leadership and services of our Parish Priest Fr. Blaise Zzimbe, Fr. Charles Wamala, his deputy and their brother priests Fr. Vincent Kato and Fr. Ronald Kigozi. We also acknowledge the consistent Sunday support by Fr. Moses Musooka. This is also an opportunity to appreciate our catechists under the leadership of Mr. John Bosco Kisekka, the Sisters of Mary Reparatrix, the Sacristans, and all the Staff manning the Parish Secretariat under the leadership of Mrs. Catherine Musisi.
I extend a vote of thanks to all my colleagues in the lay apostolate leadership positions at the Parish, our 6 Sub-Parishes and the 25 Basic Christian Communities. This time round we make special mention of our 12 choirs, the Youth Apostolate, the Children’s Ministry and the various lay apostolate movements. On record this year will be the inauguration of the Parish version of the Uganda Martyr’s Guild and the re-awakening of the Catholic Men’s Guild. The exemplary performance of the Women’s Guild is our strength. We look back in gratitude at the activities of the Good Samaritans and the Caritas teams especially during the month of November.
We end the year with a yet-to-be completed task of renovating the Parish Church but owe gratitude to those who have manned the completed part of this endeavor: the Development Committee and their sub-committees - Resource Mobilization and Construction. Alongside these achievements, the Spiritual Outreach Sub-committee has ably and consistently provided a monthly opportunity to re-learn and upgrade our knowledge of the Catholic catechism driving towards spiritual development .
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year; the new year will bring us even closer to our 25th Anniversary. It calls for us to implement the plans that we have been encouraged to make, always remembering to Journey together in Communion, Participation and Mission under the secure patronage of our Mother Mary of Mt. Carmel. We recommend to her care the souls of all our Parishioners that were called back in the course of the year.
Dr. Herman-Joseph Ssekamatte-Kawuma -
